How it works

From bank statement to books you understand.

Alignmoney suggests journal entries from your bank statements, explains each one in plain English, and shows what's due, so you and your CA work from the same numbers. Here's each step.

1. Tell us about your company.

Add your PAN, your GSTIN if you're registered, your entity type and your state. On the Compliance page, say whether you've opted into QRMP. We use these to work out which due dates to show you. Not sure about QRMP? Your CA will know, or check the GST portal.

2. Upload a bank statement.

Start with the last 3 months. We check that the balances chain from line to line, flag overlaps with an earlier upload of the same file type, and never post part of a file silently. Upload each month once, in one format. If we can't read a PDF line by line, AI reads the page image, and we mark those entries so you check the totals. Password-protected PDFs aren't supported yet.

3. Review what Alignmoney suggests.

Every line becomes a suggested entry with a plain-English reason. "Why?" shows the statement line it came from and what it looked at, such as your past entries for the same payee. Approve, change or reject each one.

Suggested by AI. Check the account, amount and GST before you approve.

4. Approve, with a record of who did what.

When you approve an entry, it goes into your books. Posted entries aren't edited. To fix one, you reverse it, and both steps stay on the record.

5. See your cash, your reports and what's coming.

Your dashboard shows cash, what you're owed and your next due date. Your reports cover the ledger, trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet and a monthly cash-flow statement. Essentials shows a 30-day cash view. Growth shows a 13-week cash flow and your runway in months.

6. See what a number means.

Each number on your dashboard and each line in your reports has a short explanation in plain words. A report line opens to show what it's made of.

7. See what's due.

Your calendar lists the main GST, TDS, advance-tax and ROC dates for a business like yours, based on the details you give us. Every date is marked 'Unconfirmed date' until a chartered accountant has checked it, and due-date alerts are off until then, so confirm each date with your CA. We prepare. You or your CA file.

8. Issue GST invoices and quotes.

Create a quote and turn it into an invoice in one step. We fill in your GSTIN, suggest the place of supply from your customer's details, and work out CGST and SGST, or IGST, from it. You can change it before you issue. Alignmoney doesn't email invoices yet: download the PDF and send it yourself. Each invoice carries a UPI QR code once your UPI ID is in Settings. When the money arrives, Alignmoney suggests the match to the bank line for you to approve, and you see who still owes you. We don't do e-invoicing yet: if your aggregate turnover has crossed ₹5 crore in any financial year since 2017-18, B2B invoices are switched off for your company.
